Reid Music Scholarship

In order to remain eligible to renew the Reid Music Scholarship, students must:

Actively contribute to the music department, and maintain membership in a department ensemble. All scholarships will be evaluated individually by the Music Department every spring to determine renewal of the award.
Maintain a minimum of a 2.0 GPA.

Audition Requirements -

For the instrumentalists: Please prepare two contrasting pieces of approximately 10 minutes.

For the vocalists: please prepare two contrasting songs. One should be in English and the second may be in another language of your choice.

List the dates and times that work for you to complete your in-person audition with a member of our faculty. Please be aware that auditions are generally hosted Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. Central Time. If those times do not work for you, we can try to accommodate on a case-by-case basis.

Although it is not required, some students prefer to audition with accompaniment. Would you like the college to provide an accompanist for our audition? If yes, please send pdfs of your accompaniment, in the appropriate key, to Professor Edgar (edgar@lakeforest.edu) at least two weeks prior to your requested audition date. We will do our best to accommodate your request, but we can't guarantee our accompanists' availability.
